For the world premiere exhibition Patrick McPheron took over HNYPT in downtown Los Angeles and
turned it into the Infinity Corporation Laboratories.
With a spine-tingling soundtrack and a whole cast of wonderfully insane characters from the series,
McPheron brought his sci-fi photo series INVASION to life in a way not often seen in photography exhibits. With a line stretched down the block at opening, more than 350 people came out to experience this special event.
INVASION was featured in both national and local media outlets:
INVASION was a completely immersive exhibit. From the moment guests walked though the smokey entrance they were transported into the Infinity Laboratories. Visitors were greeted by one of the many wonderfully insane characters. Whether it was the Spy handing out secret and sometimes diabolical notes to people or the “Women in Pink” screaming at the top of her lungs, people were both alarmed and entertained.
Check out the night’s spooktacular soundtrack.
INVASION wasn’t reserved to just still images. Throughout the entire process of shooting the series Patrick McPheron also recorded several “tiny movies” to capture this outrageous world in motion. These were compiled and shown at the exhibition. The projection video below was shown at the INVASION Exhibition. This includes all video elements created for the INVASION series and also new content created exclusively for the exhibition. The video is accompanied by a selection of the event’s soundtrack.
—-NIGHT ON BROADWAY: INVASION—-
In January of 2016 “INVASION” was chosen to be part of Jose Huizar’s Bringing Back Broadway initiative. Patrick took over the lower level of the historic 104 year old Palace Theatre in downtown Los Angeles and turned it into the Infinity Laboratories.
Over 65,000 people come out to this EPIC night on Broadway. INVASION certainly garnered some new fans and made some spooky impressions on people.
